Quality Assurance Technician

Your Tasks
- Receives reports within Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERPS) system to initiate quality review or inspection.
- Assembles information, prints, diagrams, purchase orders; finds errors, omissions and makes improvements for engineering documents; submits to the Engineering Department.
- Pulls part or sub-assembly samples; inspects parts, using prints and precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gage and other inspection/test equipment corresponding to applicable Quality System Standard (QSS); operates Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM); and moves parts to the staging area.
- Reviews and completes quality documentation with the part including ERPS update.
- Works with documentation control process; initiates engineering change requests, writes non-conforming material reports for rejected parts and forwards to the Materials Review Board (MRB) or applicable department.
- Interacts with other departments to gain information regarding non-conformance; identifies errors on documentation; communicates and initiates changes to applicable departments.
- Participates in MRB meetings to communicate non-conformance and collaborate on corrections.
- Communicates drawing specification deficiencies to the Engineering Department.
- Maintains supplier performance documentation.
- Interprets drawing specifications for the Machine Shop.
- Calibrates inspection tools as required.
Your Qualifications
- An understanding of and ability to apply quality standard systems such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
- Ability to set-up and use gages
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under time constraints
- A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Two years of experience related to quality assurance in a manufacturing environment working with tight tolerances
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
