Ancient tractors and their families
Stefanie and Stefan Sievers from Lauenau near Hannover (Germany) collect old tractors. Starting the tractors takes patience and can be an adventure
The Ursus C-45 was a copy of the Lanz- Bulldog D 9506 and was produced in Poland from 1947 to 1959. Today one can be found in the farmyard of Stefanie
(38) and Stefan (40) Sievers. “Ursus” means “bear”, and the gray monster proves to be appropriately unmanageable. Stefan Sievers opens a ap and takes a blowlamp out of the bear’s belly. To ignite it, rst he uses the lever to spray gasoline until his lighter kindles a ame. en he slides the blowlamp into
the Ursus “heating nose”, which causes the bear to start to growl. e re must heat the hot bulb, and Sievers waits until the temperature climbs to over 1100° F before trying to start the engine with the ywheel. Flywheel? Where did that come from? Sievers is suddenly holding the wooden steering wheel together with steering column in his hand. He inserts the rod into the Ursus ank and carefully turns the wheel. With a hiss, a white cloud of smoke escapes from the hot bulb, then we hear a cough
