BSH has 40 factories around the world, and operates 3 of them in Lodz – and Salzgit- ter AG is part of the picture. As Matthias Hartmann, Team Leader Sales Household
Appliances at Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH (SZFG), outlines, “Most recently, we delivered tonnage in the four-digit range to Lodz for dryer production.“ Steel from Salzgitter can also be found in the washing machines and dishwashers that BSH produces in Lodz. Hartmann goes on the specify, “Altogether, that is another several thousand tons.”
In the production hall constructed in 2005 for the manufacture of clothes dryers, work continues
around the clock in three shi s on ve days a week. SZFG’s relationship with BSH began in 2008, and the rst samples were delivered to Lodz in 2011.
e technical enhancement of its products
is important to BSH. Robert Winter explains, “For example, for clothes dryers, the focus is on improving e ciency.” With success: Since 2001, the average energy consumption of BSH clothes dryers has dropped by up to 75%. e company feels that it is well positioned for the future, and it has set high goals for itself. BSH wants to increase its group sales to 20 billion euros by 2025, which would represent twice the level in 2010.
