Full range of stainless steel strip for better response to customer requirements
Salzgitter Mannesmann Stahlhandel GmbH has expanded stainless steel activities in the quarto plate and
sheet sectors. Before now, sales based
at the Gladbeck storage site, but market requirements led to a decision to combine the stainless steel strip capacities with those of the a liated company, Universal Eisen und Stahl GmbH in Neuss, which had been processing stainless steel at the Viersen site.
Now the full stainless steel range can be even better matched to the customer needs, particularly for plasma cutting, water jet cutting and chamfering. Salzgit- ter Mannesmann Stahlhandel is conse- quently well on the way to aligning the sales structures and the range available from the warehouse with the customer needs.
Stainless steel is now also being processed and stored in Viersen

Its customers include market leading manufacturers and partners, such as Jägermeister, the world’s bestselling spirit brand, the Braunschweig-Wolfs- burg Airport, built in 1935 and popularly called the “Research Airport” in the region, and Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH, where 60 TELCAT cameras have been installed on blast furnaces A and B.
TELCAT handles around 15,000 cus- tomers and its earnings topped 69 million euros in 2015. e rm employs more than 480 people at 20 locations.
