JANUARY
Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH launched the “Neue Wärmebehandlungslinie” (“New heat treatment line”) project. At € 150 million, this project represents the largest single investment at this site.
FEBRUARY
The Salzgitter Group closed the 2017 financial year with the best pre-tax result since the financial crisis, posting a pre-tax profit of € 238 million – the highest since 2008.
MARCH
At the Annual Results Press Conference, the Executive Board released the most important key figures to the financial press and presented the latest annual report to the public.
APRIL
The Salzgitter Group made two high-profile public appearances at the Tube trade fair in Düsseldorf and at Hannover Messe. Dominant topics covered at the events included “MANNESMANN. Das Rohr” as well as the “SALCOS Project” which is part of Salzgitter’s plan to achieve CO2-reduced steel production.
MAY
The Salzgitter Group recorded a strong start to the year financially and achieved pre-tax profit of € 95.9 million in the first quarter.
Salzgitter Mannesmann Handel launched its auction platform e-AUCTION – another key step on the path to digitalizing steel trading.
The Salzgitter subsidiary Mannesmann Stainless Tubes GmbH took over the French stainless steel tube specialist SOTEP. The company is a special- ist provider of cold-finished seamless stainless steel tubes within the premium segment.
