In H1 2018, the Salzgitter Group posted pre-tax profit of € 198.6 million – the best result since 2008 and almost double the figure achieved in the comparable period.
Mannesmann Grossrohr GmbH supplied the first tubes for the ZEELINK natural gas pipeline project.
Salzgitter Hydroforming concluded an agreement with Shanghai Baolong Au- tomotive Corporation in China to found a joint venture for the production of hydroforming components for automobile, chassis and bodywork applications.
SEPTEMBER
The City of Salzgitter nominated Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heinz Jörg Fuhrmann an honorary citizen of Salzgitter. The laudatory speech was held by former Vice-Chancellor and Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel.
OCTOBER
The partners Salzgitter Flachstahl, Avacon and Linde signed a cooperation agreement for the ground-breaking energy project “Salzgitter Clean Hydro- gen”, which represents an important step towards hydrogen-based industry.
Salzgitter Mannesmann Stahlhandel became the only steel trader to hold the seal of approval from the DSTV (German Steel Association).
NOVEMBER
The Salzgitter Group sustained its dynamic earnings development and achieved pre-tax profit of € 284.6 million in the first nine months of 2018.
Prof. Dr. Heinz Jörg Fuhrmann was elected Vice President of the BDI (Federation of German Industries).
