 is the new image campaign “Sei Teil von etwas Großem” or “Be part of something big.” The aim is to raise awareness among young people of the wide range of jobs and career opportunities available within Group.
After all, Salzgitter AG is no lightweight player. It is an internationally active Group with around 25,000 employees in well over 150 subsidiaries, affiliate companies and industrial participa- tions. This campaign has already succeeded in convincing scores of young people to apply for a training position with us – some of whom were definitely wowed by a tour of the plant, making their decisions on the spot (see next page). There
is undoubtedly a great deal to experience and dis- cover after passing through the plant gates of the Group: The hot rolled wide strip line at Salzgitter Flachstahl boasts seven times 38,000 PS of power, the KHS beverage filling systems can output
2,000 bottles a minute and the rail network on the works premises in Salzgitter measures in at some 330 kilometers! Precision tubes from Mannes- mann Precision Tubes can withstand pressures of up to 2,500 bar. The Group produces 6,955 million tons of crude steel every year, with the largest sec- tions weighing in at 818 kilos per meter. And every year the trading business ships 4,635 million tons of steel to customers.
