Blast furnace tapping at the Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH iron and steel works: The molten pig iron flows into the launder, where an employee wearing protective clothing
can take a sample. This is then immediately analyzed. This process is intended to ensure that all quality standards are adhered to from an early stage of steel production.
