Award-winning ideas for aseptic bottles
KHS awards bottle design prize to students in cooperation with Münster MSD
TECHNOLOGY KHS awarded its prize for innovative bottle designs for the second time since 2017 in coopera- tion with the Münster School of Design (MSD). The topic of this year's student competition was “Ideas for aseptic bot- tles”. After students submitted their de- signs, the best three were awarded prizes at a ceremony held at Münster University of Applied Sciences.
First prize finally went to the team who created the “Bereza” bottle composition. The product – a water extracted from birch trees – promises natural quality and absolute purity, and this is preserved by the aseptic bottle.

News of the year: “Factory of the future” and dual studies program on the company premises
This is how the new complex will look when it is finished next year – complete with production halls and office buildings
TECHNOLOGY DESMA Schuhmaschinen GmbH hit the news spotlight twice in 2019: construction of a “factory of the future” got underway on the company grounds at the end of May. A U-shaped three-floor office building is being built at the end of a 12,000 square meter production hall that will house offices and break rooms covering a total surface area of 4,500 square meters. The facility will also include a cafeteria facility.
In future, students will also be able to complete a dual studies degree program at DESMA. Leibniz University of Applied Sciences in Hanover opened a branch office in Achim in September 2019. Since the winter semester, three three-year dual studies bachelor's degree courses have been offered with a focus on IT and technology.
