Sustainable partnership: CO2-reduced quality heavy plates for Tadano crawler cranes

The decarbonization of industry does not stop at renewable energies; resource-saving processes and the use of climate-friendly materials support the transformation of the economy. Tadano, a premium manufacturer of quality lifting equipment and also a long-standing partner of Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH, will use quality plates made of CO2-reduced steel for its crane technology in future.

The Tadano Group delivers a wide range of quality lifting equipment that handles virtually any terrain, application scenario, and load. In addition to the goal of providing customers around the world with first-class cranes to meet a wide range of needs, the company is increasingly focusing on sustainable development. For example, Tadano aims to reduce CO2 emissions from its products by 35% in the future, as just one of many initiatives to lead Tadano into a resource-saving future. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) now signed with Ilsenburger Grobblech is expected to make a significant contribution to this ambitious corporate goal. Tadano will soon be able to procure high-quality sheet metal made of CO2-reduced steel for its crawler crane product range, among other things, and take a major step toward achieving its goal.

Ilsenburger Grobblech, as a steel processing company within the Salzgitter Group, has access to CO2-reduced steel from the SALCOS® (Salzgitter Low CO2 Steelmaking) transformation program. With SALCOS®, the Salzgitter company is gradually converting its steel production to hydrogen-based processes. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with Tadano once again underlines the increasing dynamics of demand for green steel in various customer sectors. The transformation of the economy to low carbon value chains will be a major contribution to the conscious use of finite resources.
