Salzgitter Group presents itself at this year’s Tube

06.03.2024 | Salzgitter AG

  • Focus on Mannesmann
  • Steel pipes for hydrogen infrastructure, e-mobility and CCS
  • Salzgitter Mannesmann Handel dialoging with international customers

The international tube industry convenes from April 15 to 19 at the Tube trade fair in Düsseldorf, the world's leading trade event for the tube industry. The Salzgitter Group has been location here as one of the major exhibitors for many years and will be presenting itself together with its subsidiaries on around 500 square meters in Hall 4, Stand H42. The "Mannesmann" brand for seamless and welded steel pipes will once again take center stage at the trade fair.

As Frank Seinsche, company officer responsible for trade fairs at the Salzgitter Group, explains: "Mannesmann is synonymous worldwide with steel pipes of the highest, utmost quality. Our products support the transition to sustainable solutions in many application areas, whether in the emerging hydrogen infrastructure or in e-mobility. In addition to the manufacturing companies, Salzgitter Mannesmann Handel in particular will make the most of the trade fair event as an ideal platform for dialog."

Pipes with the "Mannesmann H2ready®" designation are certified for the transportation and storage of hydrogen, thereby supporting the switch to hydrogen as the energy source of the future. Salzgitter companies have supplied large-diameter pipes and line pipes for vital infrastructure projects for the ongoing energy transition, including the Süddeutsche Erdgasleitung, which will initially transport natural gas and, as from 2030, hydrogen. In scenarios where the use of CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) technologies for the capture and storage of CO2 emissions appears to be a viable option, Mannesmann can also provide sustainable solutions. In the automotive sector, the focus is on products for hydrogen and battery-electric mobility.

In addition to sustainability, the industrial arena is increasingly focusing on supply security issues. The integration of large sections of the value creation chain within the Group makes a significant contribution to the resilience of Salzgitter-Rohrwerke, while at the same time providing them with predictable access to low-emission steel from the Group's own manufacturers.

The Salzgitter Group is represented at this year’s Tube by the companies Mannesmann Precision Tubes GmbH, Mannesmann Line Pipe GmbH, Mannesmann Grossrohr GmbH and the pipe bending plant of Salzgitter Mannesmann Grobblech GmbH. The Group's own trading organization, Salzgitter Mannesmann Handel Group, will also be presenting itself, which, in addition to direct sales by the pipe producing companies, is responsible for the worldwide distribution of the products.
