The Salzgitter Group presents the Initiative Construction at BAU 2019

07.01.2019 | Salzgitter AG

The Salzgitter Group will be presenting the Initiative Construction at BAU 2019 from January 14 – 19 at the joint stand of bauforumstahl in Hall B2, Stand 318. As a result, the activities of the steel and technology group in the area of construction will be showcased in a uniform manner for the first time ever.

“This content-related and visual unification serves to highlight the importance of the construction sector as a target market for the Salzgitter Group. Our companies’ innovative applications clearly demonstrate that steel also tops the list of materials in the field of construction,” explains Frank Seinsche, Head of Corporate Design & Events at Salzgitter AG.

The delivery of the building envelope, as well as partition walls and suspended ceilings all from one source, with core materials from various different materials makes sense from a logistics and construction point of view. In the summer of 2019, Salzgitter Bauelemente GmbH will commission a new production line that fulfills all requirements. Whatever the core material, the identical joints of the wall and roof components ensure that highly aesthetic designs can be satisfied. At the same time, the high degree of efficiency achieved by this construction method is maintained.

Industrial construction is showing a growing awareness of preventive fire protection in buildings. More stringent requirements on noise protection in buildings, as well as reducing sound levels through absorption are also part of increasingly important requirements placed on modern construction products in lightweight metal construction. These requirements necessitate the use of mineral-based core materials.
In other areas, however, the focus is on excellent insulation requiring the use of PU-foam core materials.

Peiner Träger GmbH is offering a full range of sectional steel and wide flanged beams. Quality steels and components produced using scrap are particularly resource efficient and economical and are ideal for lightweight construction and for offshore structures.

Drawing on a tight network of stockholding steel locations in Europe, as well as trading companies and offices spanning the globe, Salzgitter AG’s Trading Business Unit ensures the international presence of the Salzgitter Group’s products and services. With 17 locations in Germany, Salzgitter Mannesmann Stahlhandel is offering a wide range of products, finishing capacities and services. At this year’s BAU, visitors can engage in discussions with competent partners about their needs, specifications, projects and logistics requirements.

The Salzgitter Group is represented at BAU 2019 through its subsidiaries Peiner Träger GmbH (PTG), Salzgitter Bauelemente GmbH (SZBE) and Salzgitter Mannesmann Stahlhandel GmbH (SMSD).
