Thorsten Moellmann appointed new head of Salzgitter AG’s Corporate Communication

As of today, Thorsten Moellmann will take over as head of Salzgitter AG’s Corporate Communication. Moellmann, aged 54, commands extensive international experience in a range of different sectors. He has held executive positions at EADS, Airbus Group and most recently at Schaeffler AG. In his new role, Moellmann will report directly to Gunnar Groebler, Chief Executive Officer of Salzgitter AG.
 
Gunnar Groebler: “I would like to welcome Thorsten Moellmann most warmly to the Salzgitter Group. The new Salzgitter AG 2030 strategy and our circular economy alignment generate a wide range of communication tasks and scope for taking influence, shaping and designing. We will derive great benefit here from Mr. Moellmann’s experience and ideas. At the same time, I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to Markus Heidler who bridged the gap in heading up Corporate Communication with his conceptual and organizational skills, in addition to the Investor Relations department, during the very intensive period of strategic realignment.
 
Thorsten Moellmann – who is married and has two grown-up sons – originally comes from the Rhineland town of Grevenbroich. He studied journalism and communication sciences in Göttingen and Berlin.
