Retirement of Dr. Luckan from the Executive Board of SALZGITTER AG

Dr. Luckan (61), presently responsible for Finance and Accounting on the Executive Board of SALZGITTER AG, requested to retire from the Executive Board of SALZGITTER AG effective December 31, 2000. The Presiding Committee of the Supervisory Board complied with Dr. Luckan’s request and determined simultaneously the succession as of January 1, 2001.

Dr. Fuhrmann (43), Member of the Executive Board of SALZGITTER AG since 1996, will be responsible for „Finance and Accounting“ as of January 1, 2001, which will then include his present responsibilities of Corporate Planning, Subsidiaries, and Investor Relations.

In preparation of the transfer of responsibilities, the present responsibilities of Dr. Luckan and Dr. Fuhrmann will be consolidated in „Finance and Accounting“ as of July 1, 2000, under the joint management of the two Executive Board Members.
