9th International Wheelchair Basketball Tournament in Braunschweig

A strong sign of inclusion, team spirit, and fair play: On May 24, 2025, the Rolling Lions of MTV Braunschweig hosted their ninth international wheelchair basketball tournament at the sports hall Franzsches Feld. Mayor Cristina Antonelli-Ngameni opened the sporting event, which featured teams from Braunschweig, Magdeburg, Hanover, Odense, and Viborg (Denmark). As always, the teams competed for the symbolic “cup” – a magnum bottle of sparkling wine.

In ten exciting games the teams fought for tournament victory with speed, tactics and fairness. In the end, the Odense Hawks secured first place, just ahead of Viborg and Magdeburg. The host Rolling Lions did not score at the top, but were once again celebrated as “winners of the hearts” for their hospitality, their commitment on the field and their great dedication behind the scenes.
