Clean-up campaign Salzgittersee

The clean-up campaign for the Salzgittersee took place again this year on 3 October. Many helping hands and dedicated divers cleaned the bottom of the lake. It was amazing how much rubbish the divers pulled out of the lake.
In 2021, Frank Ehresmann, initiator and organiser of the ‘Unterwasserparcours Salzgittersee’ (an underwater trail in Lake Salzgitter), came up with the idea of launching a water purification campaign in Lake Salzgitter with the support of the local diving clubs.
With a special permit from the city of Salzgitter, many places in the lake could be dived on this day that are otherwise not open for diving.
As a sponsor, Salzgitter AG provided, among other things, catering for the hard-working helpers in 2023.
