Holiday childcare at Salzgitter AG

The children's holiday care programme was held for the first time as a joint project between the holding and Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH, and provided fun for our employees' children with a varied programme.

The free offer includes a total of four weeks of holiday childcare per year for children of primary school age – one week each in the Easter and autumn holidays and two weeks in the summer holidays.

From 7:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 40 children were looked after by external educational specialists on the company's premises.

A varied programme provided fun and entertainment: in addition to arts and crafts, board games, magic shows and excursions, regular activities related to the company were offered. These included, for example, tours of the plant premises in Salzgitter and visits to the plant fire brigade or the plant security dog team. This year, our plant fire department and company health insurance fund organised additional child-friendly activities on the topics of first aid and healthy eating.
