The sixth Lichtparcours took place in Braunschweig from 15 June to 6 October 2024 – this year with the support of Salzgitter AG. Šejla Kamerić's installation consists, among other things, of Salzgitter steel, which was used to make the striking letters of the artwork.

Šejla Kamerić chose ‘TGIF’ as the title of the work. The iconic acronym stands for Thank God It's Friday. The work alludes to the perpetual drive and the incessant pursuit of progress. Friday thus symbolises not only a break with the past, but also the dawn of a new era of climate neutrality and the transformation of industrial society. The videos projected onto the artwork impressively show the transition from the conventional industrial world to the new green economy.

Thorsten Möllmann, Head of Group Communications and Brand: ‘The installation impressively reflects the situation of the Salzgitter Group. We, too, are in the midst of a transformation towards a circular economy and CO2-reduced steel production. In doing so, we are actively shaping the transformation of industry, setting standards and making an important contribution to society.’
