FolaSal®egis® - a protective shield for steel

FolaSal^®egis^® was specially developed for use in aggressive environments and is certified as a C4-H and C5-M system in accordance with DIN 55634-1. This means that it can be used in environments with high (C4) or very high corrosion exposure (C5). In a C4 atmosphere, the achievable protection period is 15 to 25 years (protection period H=high), and in a C5 atmosphere it is 7 to 15 years (protection period M=medium). Typical examples of C4 and C5 atmospheres include industrial areas with high humidity and increased sulfur dioxide pollution, coastal areas with medium or high salt pollution, and areas inside buildings with constant condensation or corresponding contamination. Solar and photovoltaic systems are also subject to high corrosion stress, e.g., due to moss growth and the accumulation of contaminants, so that C4-H coatings are usually used for this purpose.

Another quality feature of FolaSal^®egis^® is its excellent UV stability, i.e. color and gloss stability under the influence of sunlight or artificial UV radiation. According to DIN EN 10169, there are a total of five UV resistance categories: Ruv1 to Ruv5. FolaSal^®egis^® meets the demanding requirements of Ruv4 and is therefore suitable for outdoor use on all continents of the world.

The FolaSal^®egis^® formula contains special additives that make the surface scratch-resistant and abrasion-resistant.
