Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH has arranged an “Occupational Safety Practice Days” event featuring an extensive program over a 13-day period up until May 12, 2022. From 6 a.m. in the morning until 2 a.m. at night, the groups will be taken through various stages at four-hour intervals, including the following topics: best practice examples of “We Work Safely”, occupational safety, fire protection and healthcare.

More than 3,000 employees, including trainees and colleagues from staff leasing, are expected to participate in the program.

As Jens Loock, Head of Personnel at Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH stated: “These “practice days” form part of our living occupational safety culture. Staff have the opportunity of engaging actively with the topics and incorporating suggestions into their daily tasks. These days are also a building block of our Zero Accidents entrepreneurial goal.”

Elke Sebold-Tanski, Head of Occupational Safety commented: “We are promoting the topic of occupational safety in multiple ways. In the course of the practice days, we place emphasis on communication, participation and on taking responsibility for oneself. With this in mind, we are offering 59 sessions in total over a period of 13 days at four-hour intervals, from 6 o’clock in the morning to 2 o’clock at night, so virtually round the clock, for all shifts.”

Fifty employees per session have the opportunity of informing themselves about the topic of health and safety at the workplace. An exciting program has been prepared together with the Works Fire Brigade, Occupational Medicine, DanTrim, and the BKK Salzgitter health insurance company. The program ranges from the escape room and virtual fire protection drills right through to health checks and hands-on activities.
