The EcoVadis Sustainability Rating Bestows Silver Medal on Salzgitter AG

• Silver medal in the EcoVadis sustainability rating confirmed for the second consecutive time
• Significant improvements in all four evaluation categories and rise to the top ten percent of companies evaluated worldwide

Salzgitter AG has once again been recognized for its achievements in the area of sustainability. As in the previous year, the latest EcoVadis rating bestowed a silver medal on the steel company. The company was able to significantly advance its performance across all four evaluation criteria by comparison with 2025. Achieving a total score of 78 out of a possible 100 points (previous year: 70/100) Salzgitter AG ranks among the top 8 percent of companies evaluated worldwide.

For the EcoVadis rating, companies are evaluated in four different categories. Compared to the previous year, Salzgitter AG made progress – in some cases very significant – across all areas in 2026:

• Environment: 79/100 points (2025: 75/100)
• Labor & Human Rights: 82/100 points (2025: 77/100)
• Ethics: 64/100 points (2025: 50/100)
• Sustainable Procurement: 80/100 points (2025: 66/100)

The award underscores the high priority that sustainability holds throughout the entire Group. Salzgitter AG as a whole has been participating in the EcoVadis rating already since 2023. Bronze status was achieved in each of the first two years. In 2025, a silver medal was bestowed on the Group for the first time, placing it among the top 15 percent of the companies evaluated.

EcoVadis evaluates and rates companies' sustainability performance in the areas of the environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The methodology is based on international standards such as GRI, UNGC, and ISO 26000.
